Team Cotter represents BC at National U18

Team Cotter won the honour of representing BC at the U18 Curling Nationals in New Brunswick at the beginning of April.

The team consists of 4 girls between the ages of 16-18. Cassidy Schwaerzle, Katelyn McGillivray and Jaelyn Cotter have been playing with each other for 3 years now; out of the Vernon Curling Club. We were lucky enough to pick up Kaila Buchy from Kimberly for the U18 event.

Throughout the week at provincials we went 6-1 in the round robin and proceeded into playoffs in the number one spot. We beat the Taylor team in the 1 v 2 game and then met them again in the finals. It was a close game and came down to the last few rocks. We worked very hard and stayed focused all week; and in the end we accomplished our goal.

We are so excited to be attending our very first nationals and representing our province. We hope to make British Columbia very proud. However, we do need some financial support. As you can imagine the experience is quite pricey. The trip to New Brunswick will cost us approximately $10 000. Please help us represent our province to the best of our ability, your generosity is truly appreciated and will be put to good use.
